Wabasha Main Street (WMS) is a grass root organization of volunteers focusing on revitalizing our traditional downtown commercial district. WMS follows the Four Point Approach set forth by the National Main Street Program, a division of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The Four Points include:
- Organization – building leadership, ensuring community engagement, and forging partnerships
- Economic Vitality – Creating a diverse economic base, catalyzing new investment, cultivating strong entrepreneurship
- Promotion – Marketing the district’s defining assets, communicating unique features, supporting buy-local experience
- Design – Creating an inviting and inclusive atmosphere, celebrating the historic character, fostering accessible people-centered public spaces.
The WMS works closely with the City of Wabasha, the Wabasha Heritage Preservation Commission, the W-K Chamber of Commerce and the State Health Improvement Program.
