Highlights: Wabasha was platted in 1854 and incorporated as a city in 1858. Between 1850 and 1880 Wabasha experienced great growth. In the early 1860’s Main Street was primarily wood frame buildings. By 1868 brick buildings, made from local materials, began to replace the earlier frame buildings. Many of these buildings still stand today.

Highlights: Lower Lawrence Boulevard is characterized by a row of residences constructed over a wide period of time in a variety of architectural styles. Wabasha is one of the few historic Upper Mississippi river towns having residential river frontage.

Highlights: This route winds along the river and through the small river town neighborhoods. Five city parks, an historic cemetery, the old railroad district, and St. Elizabeth Medical Center campus are highlighted.
